Alien Technology, Fargo, NDD
This manufacturing plant produces “Radio Frequency Identification”(RFID) tags for retail and supply chain use. The RFID tags consist of a small integrated circuit attached to a metallic antenna printed on a label. The RFID tags allow wireless identification of the items to which they are attached. This is the world’s first mass-scale manufacturing plant for this type of new technology. The building is constructed of precast concrete and curtain wall glazing. The open nature of the floor plan allows flexibility and versatility for the developments yet to be designed for this technology.

NDSU Center for Technology Enterprise, Fargo, ND
The Center for Technology Enterprise is a hub of technology entrepreneurship in the NDSU Research & Technology Park. The characteristics of the building include elements of technology, efficiency, flexibility and sustainability. A holistic design and careful integration of these elements provides an environment well-suited for clients of this business technology incubator building. The CTE responds to the site conditions, allowing for natural light to penetrate into the interior while protecting against harsh winter winds and noise from overhead jets. Within the building itself, space is allocated for small offices, laboratories, conference rooms, shared work space and small informal meeting areas for open interaction among the tenants.
